Impact of the High Resolution Audio Revolution in Live Events & Entertainment
One of the most important elements for any event is the sound quality. It can make or break the audience experience, and ultimately define the outcome of your event. Just think about it for a moment… when you’re at a conference, you’re there to listen to the presenters… when you’re at a concert, you’re there to hear the music… when you’re at a meeting, you want to hear and be heard… regardless of the type of event, it’s the sound that gets your attention and keeps it. We often see first with our ears… sound directs our attention where and when the producer wants it.
At the conclusion of an event, the critiques and compliments are often related to the sound quality. The audience may not notice when there is a glitch in your lighting, multimedia or video displays, but they definitely notice when the sound quality has faltered. Inconsistent volume levels, poor timing, less than perfect clarity, and even the smallest amount of feedback are just some of the elements that unfortunately also get your audiences’ attention – and, it may be all they remember.

What’s New at OSA
OSA Supports the 2014 David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala & Concert
The 2014 David Foster Foundation Miracle Gala & Concert was held at Calgary’s WestJet Airplane Hangar on September 27th. This year’s annual gathering raised over 8 Million Dollars to provide financial support for non-medical expenses to Canadian families with children undergoing pediatric organ transplants, and OSA was proud to be part of this charitable event. The David Foster Foundation and its sponsors put on annual galas to raise money to support families of children in need of life saving organ transplants. This year’s event was no exception with CNN’s Michaela Pereira, the emcee for the evening, who was in the company of cast members of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Simon Keith, one of the oldest living heart transplant recipients in the world.
Using Martin Audio’s MLA sound system, OSA provided audio design and engineering to deliver a truly extraordinary sound experience to the 800-seat audience, ensuring everyone in attendance received consistent and flawless quality throughout the evening. The OSA team configured the system to support both talking heads as well as execute a dynamic sound experience for the world-class entertainment, including David Foster, Jennifer Hudson, Jackie Evancho, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Brett Kissel, Sinbad, and legendary rock superstar Steven Tyler.
OSA is proud to be the audio company for the David Foster Foundation and is privileged to be part of this important cause.
